Job Summary
Provides direct Pastoral services to patients, families and staff, and assumes day to-day comprehensive pastoral responsibility for the various nursing clinical areas assigned.

Essential Functions
  • Performs daily pastoral visitation and sacramental services.
  • Participates in the On-Call rotation.
  • Works as liaison with faith group leaders visiting their members.
  • Participates in provision of regular worship services in hospital Chapel.
  • Provides out-patient pastoral counseling.
  • Facilitates Pastoral Care Groups in collaboration with Health Care Team.
  • Maintains pertinent pastoral records of daily activities.
  • Maintains responsible relationship with endorsing denomination.
  • Provides appropriate in-service education.
Physical Requirements
Walks and stands throughout the day. Talking and hearing essential to communicate with patients, staff and families throughout the hospital. Is free of any physical liability which would preclude discharge of normal pastoral duties, including participation in 24-hour On-Call rotation.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Graduation from an accredited College or University. Graduation from an accredited Theological Seminary or Divinity School. Certified or seeks certification or clinical membership with a National Pastoral Care Cognate Group. Minimum of one year (four educational quarters) of Clinical Pastoral Education including at least two advanced type quarters, or its experiential and/or professional equivalent. Minimum of three years professional experience as a Pastor.
