Job Summary
Oversees the integration of a multidisciplinary, facility-wide team aimed at maximizing revenue capture. Manages the implementation of site specific Revenue Management Task Forces (RMTF) throughout HIS system conversions and will provide long-term oversight and support to revenue leaders as part of the system's Revenue Integrity team.

Essential Functions

 

  • Oversees the project management, identification and coordination of resources across Finance, IT, and Clinical Operations Leaders as a part of the gross revenue management process.
  • Completes the Revenue Matrix outlining all relevant charging information prior to each go-live including the documentation of all legacy to Encompass cost center and department mapping.
  • Collects and validates revenue and volume baseline data to measure against Encompass volume and revenue at each go-live rollout.
  • Oversees Revenue Management Workshop training for Revenue Owners ahead of each go-live.
  • Completes Revenue Tracker Tool setup and distribute to RMTF stakeholders post-live.
  • Facilitates pre-live meetings with Revenue Owners to validate go-live readiness.
  • Co-leads pre/post-live RMTF meetings with identified Operational and Technical Leads following each HIS implementation until revenue stabilizes.
  • Monitors global revenue trending long-term with each facility.
  • Completes project management and leads optimization efforts across the Revenue Integrity Department long-term.
  • Performs regular audits to ensure integrity of the entered charges; oversees reconciliation procedures are being completed daily.
  • Works to identify areas where the system could increase revenue capture through better documentation and/or standardization of charging processes
  • Acts as the main contact for the RMTF Leads when questions related to charges or reconciliation processes transpire.
  • Deploys and coordinates resources to work with the Revenue Owners and/or charge leads on completing reconciliation of their charges
  • Assists in overseeing discussions, both at a system and cost center level, around workflows or build that could be negatively impacting gross revenue

 

Physical Requirements
Work requires the majority of time spent sitting, however, the work does require some walking. Work requires heavy telephone use and interaction with clinical departments, finance, IS staff, other departments, and outside sources. Requires minimal standing to file documents and do research. Must be able to reach and bend on a moderate level.

Education, Experience and Certifications
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Business or Health Care required; Masters degree preferred. 5 years of Healthcare Finance and/or Revenue Cycle experience required. Leadership expertise in project management, charge capture practices and workflows, and billing and revenue management required. Experience with Epic Resolute Billing and/or Cerner clinical systems preferred. Knowledge of computerized information systems used in financial and/or accounting applications. Clinical charge capture knowledge or experience preferred. Ability to analyze and interpret financial data. Knowledge of software to quantify and illustrate complex financial reports, comparisons, impacts, and/or projections. Strong management skills including the ability to organize and prioritize work in a constantly changing environment. Knowledge of government regulations, audit requirements and third party billing. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
