Job Summary
Formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify moderately complex information systems. Prepares detailed specifications from which programs will be written.


Additional Essential Functions:

•Using instructional systems design methodologies such as ADDIE, SAM andadult learning theory, principles and concepts to develop training for doctors,nurses and ancillary medical staff using electronic medical records.

•Conducting needs analyses to determine current and future learning anddevelopment solution requirements.

•Designing developing, and evaluating learning content using a variety ofmethodologies and development approaches including but not limited to tutorials,job aids, reference material, audio and video scripts, storyboards, webinars,eLearning, and instructor-led training, mobile learning and micro-learning.

•Managing project timelines and resources to ensure deliverables are completedin scope and on schedule.

•Implementing metrics and analytics that effectively measure the learning anddevelopment impact to the organization.

•Evaluating course effectiveness through end of course evaluations, participant comprehension, and operational metrics, making necessary content revisions.

•Working directly with Subject Matter Experts to gather requirements and proposesolutions ensuring appropriate content.

•Managing multiple projects through project plans and prioritization. Provides periodic progress reports on assignments to key stakeholders within established timelines.

•Integrating courseware into an LMS with experience using SCORM and AICC guidelines.

•Incorporating current and emerging technology tools and platforms that will allowfor efficient implementation.

•Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, process improvement, short termand long term planning skills, impeccable business judgment and critical thinking skills.

Essential Functions

  • Designs, codes, tests, debugs, documents, and maintains those programs.
  • Manages projects in all aspects of information systems lifecycle (info planning, business requirements definition, implementation, productions support). Communicates and manages project scope.
  • Coordinates with multiple vendors. Competent to work on most phases of applications systems analysis and programming activities, but requires instruction and guidance in other phases.
  • Creates business process for chosen packaged systems. Configures packaged systems.
  • Ensures all user requests are received in writing and properly evaluated. Responds to request in a timely manner.
  • Guarantees efficient and effective completion of project assignments in accordance with standard procedures.
  • Assists in the resolution of issues regarding projects being worked on and develops recommendations for those issues.
  • Assists in work plan development and management.


Physical Requirements
Work is subject to high-level visibility through verbal and written communications with senior hospital management, associated project deadlines, personnel evaluation, and counseling. Must be available for on-call support on a regular basis. Must be able to lift objects that weigh up to 35 lbs. Due to project requirements, overtime will be required, as needed.


Additional Training and Certifications:

Bachelor’s degree in instructional design preferred. Five plus years of relevant design and development experience preferred. Intermediate experience using curriculum

design systems (Adobe Captivate, Adobe Connect, Camtasia, etc.) required. Intermediate knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and Power Point required.

Education, Experience and Certifications
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or related job field preferred. Health care industry experience preferred.
