Carolinas HealthCare System has a long history of being a good corporate citizen, stemming back to our 1940 roots as a medical center providing access to hospital care to all patients, regardless of social or economic background. As we've grown over the years -- from a single facility to a comprehensive system -- so has our commitment to the communities we serve.
At CHS, this commitment begins with our fundamental mission of saving lives and restoring health, but in truth, it extends well beyond, to include programs, efforts and initiatives such as:
Charity Care for the Uninsured
CHS has procedures in place to assist patients who face difficulty in paying for healthcare services, due to an absence of medical insurance coverage, or due to medical coverage that provides only minimal benefits.
CHS Giving Campaign
Community involvement is a concept and practice that is embraced at every level of our organization, and thoroughly supported by the leadership at Carolinas HealthCare System.
Each year, CHS employees give generously of themselves - donating millions of dollars and countless hours directly to various community organizations and initiatives - including, but not limited to: The United Way, the Children’s Miracle Network, Habitat for Humanity, the Arts & Science Council, playground builds and donations to benefit underprivileged children.
